The Medicago Sativa Prosementi variety grows very straight, with semi-full stem, very high leaf number distributed along the whole stem. These characteristics guarantee a high yield in dry matter. The early growth, exceptional longevity (at least 5 years), excellent cold and drought tolerance, wide adaptability and disease tolerance of the Prosementi variety ensure its high productivity.

ADVICE FOR CULTIVATION

SOWING DENSITY

Sowing should be performed with 25 - 30 Kg of seed per hectare. Soils with deep plowing and good drainage.

FERTILIZATION

Fertilization should be distributed according to local conditions.

Phosphorus and Potash: to improve yield and longevity of the crop, Phosphorus and Potash should be applied, based upon soil availibility before sowing and during vegetative growth following winter dormancy.
Nitrogen: for a vigorous growth a light nitrogen fertilisation should be carried out when sowing.
