Carisma

Carisma

  • Stable end-use quality, excellent for cookies;

  • Resistant to lodging;
  • Good diseases tolerance

It is a medium early common wheat with awned spikes and high vernalisation requirement (two or three days later than Centauro variety). Very good resistance to common diseases and to lodging. High yielding potential. Carisma is a wheat suitable for biscuits production (W = 80 – 120; P/L = 0.2 – 0.4).

ADVICE FOR CULTIVATION

SOWING DATE

Considering the high vernalisation requirement and the very good resistance to cold, normal or early sowing date are advisable. Late sowing date are not recommended.

SOWING DENSITY

Sowing should be performed with 500 germinating seeds per meter (approximately 200 – 220 kg per hectare). The quantity should be increased in non-favourable conditions of the sowing soil preparation or in case of late sowing.

NITROGEN FERTILIZATION

It is very important for the yielding potential and the quality to have fertilizing divided into the following way:

  • 1/4 at sowing time or when the plants reach the third-leaf stage;
  • 2/4 at end of tillering-beginning of culm elongation;
  • 1/4 at 2° node.

PHYTOSANITARY DEFENCE

Particular fungicide treatments are required only under conditions particularly favourable to the development of fungus pathogenous development.
