ADVICE FOR CULTIVATION

SOWING DATE

Ordinary sowing date are recommended.

SOWING DENSITY

Sowing should be performed with 400 - 450 germinating seeds per meter in adequately prepared soils.

NITROGEN FERTILIZATION

Nitrogen should be distributed according to local conditions. Fertilization should be divided into the following way:

  • 1/4 at sowing time or when the plants reach the third-leaf stage;
  • 2/4 at end of tillering-beginning of culm elongation;
  • 1/4 at 2° node.

PHYTOSANITARY DEFENCE

Considering his genetic resistance to the main diseases, the Iride variety does not require preventive treatment, which is economically advantageous only under conditions that are particularly favourable to the development of fungal infections.
