QUALITY SYSTEM - Certification UNI EN ISO 9001:2000

Produttori Sementi Bologna S.p.A. is the first Italian seed company which has been granted a voluntary certification UNI EN ISO 9001, for the activity of “plant breeding, variety release, and production and sale of cereal, industrial and forage crop seeds”.

The certification guarantees conformity of the Company’s Qua-lity Management System to the international UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 “Quality Management Systems:requirements” standard.

The term quality indicates all the characteristics of the product or service affecting its ability to satisfy the client’s implicit and explicit needs.

Quality Management System indicates the organizing structure, procedures, processes and all the resources, needed to manage and guarantee quality.

The UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 standard entails:

  • application of the process approach to the company activities;
  • application of the plan-do-check–act cycle to every process;
  • written documentation of quality policy, company organization, procedures of the quality management system, quality records;
  • focusing of all activities on customer satisfaction;
  • importance of communication inside and outside the company;
  • personnel training on topics concerning quality;
  • a system of internal audits guaranteeing the constant compliance of the company procedures to the standard and to the quality policy.

The standard UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 was promulgated by the International Organization for Standardization in 2000, and introduced at the European level by the Comité Européen de Normalisation and at the national level by the Ente Nazionale Italiano di Unificazione.

Compliance to the UNI EN ISO 9001 standard is verified through periodic audits and certified through the granting of a certificate valid for three years and released by an accredited Management System Certification Body which in our case is CISQ Cert accredited by SINCERT and member of the italian IQNet.
